We recently had our office Christmas party. The planned theme was "Gender Bender" - all the guys were coming as girls, and vice versa. Someone convinced me to go as Britney - they even got hold of a blonde wig for me!

On the day of the party I was working from home. It turned out that the company President was coming over and was going to attend. The cross-dressing plans were quickly shelved, and a black-tie cocktail reception was organized instead. My assistant emailed me this vital information. Unfortunately, I never logged on.

I walked in and the room fell silent. The President turned round to see why, and saw me in the wig and a little red dress. He stepped towards me looking very stern, and then offered me his arm and said, "May I have the first dance?"

Since then my assistant always uses MSGTAG when she emails me, and around the office I'm known as "Britney".
